THE NEW FRONTIERS in Gastric Cancer diagnosis and treatment
Il congresso internazionale sul cancro gastrico si terrà a Forlì dal 13 al 14 settembre 2018 presso l’Auditorium Cariromagna, Via Flavio Biondo, 16 .
La scelta della città di Forlì come sede del convegno rappresenta un importantissimo riconoscimento per il gruppo di professionisti forlivesi che, da anni, produce e pubblica ricerche su questa patologia, in collaborazione con l’ Irst di Meldola.
Nei due giorni previsti, i più grandi esperti del settore al mondo, provenienti da Corea, Brasile, Giappone, Belgio, Inghilterra e Polonia, solo per citarne alcuni, si riuniranno in sessioni e meeting con i colleghi italiani.
“Gastric cancer represents an old debated topic considered so aggressive and with a so poor prognosis in Western countries, to be only submitted, when possible, to surgical treatment.
However, differently from this opinion, research in this field reached good results also in advanced cancer and integrated therapies are now proposed to more correctly staged patients by a multidisciplinary group of experts.
In Romagna this has been always performed and collaboration with Cancer Research Institute (IRST), the Italian Gastric Cancer Group (GIRCG) and the International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA), allowed us to perform good results and stimulate discussion and research.
We selected for this congress some topics with new implications for our patients and proposed presentations on ongoing projects that could improve prognosis for a wider group of patients. ”
